 Asher Roth has been creating a buzz for himself whether it be from dropping his freshman album “Asleep in the Bread Aisle” on national weed smoking day (420 – April 20th) or from his recent Imus impersonation, calling the women at Rutgers College “Nappy headed hoes” on his Twitter page. But you know what they say, any press is good press, be it negative or positive. After diving deep into Asher’s album, this is what I got from the dude. |

 T-Pain saved Hip Hop while the autotune killed it, is my underlying theory of the direction Hip Hop was heading in. Figuratively speaking, I feel as if dude set a standard in hip hop causing a wide range of artist to imitate his style in attempts to seek the same praise and appeal attained by Mr. T-Pain last year. |

 It is spring time in the 212 city. The last few weeks have brought plenty of rain. With the rain has also come a handful of warm sunny days. For New Yorkers, sunny warm weather means it is time to start exercising outside. For me personally, the thought of running for any extended period of time, used to seem like torture by boredom. That was my attitude until about 5 years ago, when I discovered the most amazing workout tool, ever: the workout playlist. |

It’s the holiday season and that means it’s the time of the year for record labels to open up their respective vaults and release (or in some cases re-release) any jewels that they’ve been sitting on. In this case, we have the release of The Sound of The Smiths, a new ‘Best Of’ album. Now with the abundance of ‘Best Of’ and single collections showcasing The Smiths, this one would really have to have something to justify a release and in this case, thankfully it does. The album comes in two forms, a single and a double disc. Both feature tracks that include different mixes, live songs, radio sessions and some of the lesser available B-sides. |
